I believe that during difficult times we all need some time and understanding to reflect on all that is happening around us.
I am insightful and real with you about how hard life can be. I might challenge you from time to time – this genuineness combined with accepting you as you are gives you the space to feel better about who you really are, deep down. Counselling isn’t a quick fix, but can provide deep long lasting change: I’ve seen this happen for my clients.
Whilst I am an expert in counselling, I am not the expert of you. This means that I can’t give you any answers; but I can be with you through all that hurts and help you to explore, find any answers and to understand yourself more.
Counselling helps you to understand and accept yourself more, which can make a huge difference to how you feel about life and yourself. I want to provide you with a space where you no longer need to pretend that things are ok, when they feel far from that.
I am qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist (BACP accredited course) and have been fortunate to work for several years supporting people in the voluntary sector. I have worked as a Counsellor for a number of Edinburgh based charities, with adults and young people.
I trained in the Person-Centred approach because I believe that a relationship with someone who is warm, understanding and genuine can make all the difference. I know many of my clients have accepted and understood themselves more through our work together and value the depth of our relationship. I find my work incredibly inspiring and work with integrity, honesty and humour.
I am warm and aim to be myself and be with you, as you are, when times are hard.
